The Divys

The Divys (pronounced The Dih-veez) are a Philadelphia-based electronic-pop-rock and New Wave duo. Formed in 2004 via a musicians-wanted ad, the pair instantly bonded over a shared love for John Waters films, naming the band after the iconic Divine.

The duo’s signature sound fuses Kliffee’s rock background with William’s deep dance music roots, which include early collaborations with legendary producer Bobby “O” Orlando. Together, they craft a sonic landscape built on sharp synths, driving guitar hooks, and emotionally charged storytelling. Their breakthrough came with the song Freddie Are You Single  which secured them a win in the 2006 John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Throughout the 2000s, The Divys consistently wrote and recorded, releasing collections such as This Is What You Get and their self-titled album. After a brief hiatus, the duo reignited their creative spark in 2020, marking a bold return with the pandemic-era single World On Fire. They have since maintained a steady momentum, dropping a string of new releases including their debut holiday track, A Thousand Christmas Trees. 

Celebrating over two decades of collaboration, The Divys continue to evolve their electronic-pop-rock edge while remaining fiercely loyal to the melodic, heartfelt sound that started it all.
